About Fancy Text Generator
What this site is
Fancy Text Generator is a free set of copy-and-paste text tools: styled alphabets, kaomoji, symbols, dividers, invisible characters and a few generators for names and bios. There are no accounts and nothing to install. The site is paid for by advertising.
How the tools work
Nothing here is a font. Every result is ordinary text made of Unicode characters, the same standard that defines the letters you are reading now. A "bold" or "script" letter is a separate character with its own code point, mostly from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, which was added to Unicode for mathematics. That is why the text survives being copied into an app that offers no formatting.
It is also why results vary. Each device draws these characters with whatever fonts it has. A phone or computer that lacks one shows an empty box or a question mark instead, and some apps strip or reject characters in certain fields, especially usernames. No tool can change that, so the honest test is always to paste the text where you want it and look.
Styled characters are harder for some people to read. Screen readers may announce them one by one with long names or skip them, and search does not match them to plain letters. We say so on the pages where it matters, and we recommend keeping anything people need to find or read aloud, such as a username, in plain letters.
How the guides are checked
Each tool page has a short guide with a reference table. The rules we hold them to:
- Characters and code points. Every code point and character name in a table is checked against the Unicode Character Database before the page is published, and the character and code point pairs are checked again automatically every time the site is built.
- Sources. Each guide lists what it relies on: the Unicode Standard and its code charts, Unicode technical reports, W3C accessibility guidance and official platform help pages.
- Where text can be pasted. These notes are general guidance about which kinds of field accept Unicode symbols. Apps and games change their rules without notice, so we avoid numbers we cannot stand behind and we do not promise that anything works everywhere.
- Review dates. Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. We revise a page when Unicode publishes a new version, when a platform changes a rule we describe, or when a reader points out a mistake.
Longer explanations of how these characters behave are in the Character Atlas and on the blog.
Your text stays in your browser
The generators run on your device. What you type is turned into styled text in your browser and is not stored on a server. Styles you save and your recent history are kept in your browser's own storage and can be cleared there. One exception: if you make a share link, the text is written into the link itself, so anyone you send the link to, and the web address they open, carries that text. Advertising and analytics are described in the privacy policy.
Corrections and contact
If a character shows the wrong name, a note about an app is out of date, or something is broken, write to admin@fancy-text-generator.com. Corrections are made on the page and the review date is updated.
